To see a World in a Grain of Sand And a Heaven in a Wild Flower, Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand And Eternity in an hour.
Auguries of innocence - Blake
I'm me, I'm not particularly shallow or profound - I have days of both. This is not a soul searching journal, merely a record of days and a means to learn about the world.
I do find life a constant source of entertainment and this is probably what I write about most. Eventually I want to be an academic and spend my life wading through dusty tomes. However this plan is currently on hiatus for various reasons so I have decided to see the world first. Consequently in 2007 I took a TESOL and spent time 'teaching' English in Romania. I tried it in Japan but realised I was a) no good and b) didn't much like it so I went to Australia. I spent 8 months in the UK , 6 months in bella Sicilia and now am in the madhouse that is Moscow. My philosophies on life are 'there's no such thing as normal' and 'nothing makes any sense', the latter is paradoxical I know, but nothing makes any sense! I find these beliefs explain most things (seriously!). Everything is interesting. I am also a slob. I invariably prefer character to asthetics and apperences really don't bother me that much. I'm a feminist, an anarchist, not sure about religion. I don't write in this thing as much as I used to do and these days I don't write very much about my life though I keep meaning to.
My journal is just as it says - ramblings, I prefer to keep my private feelings private.
I like spinning and making myself dizzy, jumping and yawning.
Add me and chances are I will add you.
My favourite films are: the life and death of colonel Blimp (actually anything by Michael Powell), Lagaan, the Apartment, If... Amores Perros, Requiem for a Dream, Star Wars, Sebastien, Kwaidan, Life is Beautiful, Central Station, Amilie, Delicatessin, 24 Hour Party People (for the soundtrack), Most classic Disney films (the latest ones suck), Aguirre-Der Zorn Gottes, Once upon a Time in the West, Kind hearts and Coronets (all time favourite), Night of the Hunter, Metropolis, Totoro, Spirited away, the Enigma of Kaspar Hausar (though I prefer the title 'Everyman for Himself and God Against all'), Discreet charm of the bourgeoisie, Le Quatre cent Coups, Woman of the Dunes, Barsaat, Wayne's world (both of them), Italian for Beginners, Lawrence Of Arabia, Battle Royale, Death in Venice, Speed, M, Monsters Inc and both Toy Story movies, Edward Scissorhands, Tesis, Broken Blossoms (melodramatic and stereotyped but oh so beautiful), Nosferatu (both Mernau and Herzog), Bad Education, Terance Malick's gems , raise the red lantern, Incident at Loch Ness, La Commune De Paris, All the Ghibli films, Brief Encounter, Curse of the Were-Rabbit, Andrei Rublyev, If..., La Commune de Paris, Culloden, Szerelmesfilm, Man without a past...Many more will be added!
